Professional Statement

  • Dr. Karim joined Magrabi Eye Hospital as Ophthalmology Resident in November 2010 to April 2013. Until he successfully passed his Final FRCS examination in Glasgow, UK that he became the Fellow of Glaucoma and Cataract Surgery under the supervision of Dr. Hazem El-Hamzawy and as Associate Consultant Ophthalmologist of the hospital.
  • Dr. Karim wanted to pursue his chosen field of specialization that he went as an Observer for Glaucoma in Moorefield Eye Hospital in London sometime in January 2015 to February 2015..
  • He actively participated as well in the teaching programmes for Residents, Ophthalmic nurses and paramedical staff like ophthalmic photographer and health care supporter at the ophthalmology department of Magrabi Eye and Ear Hospital, He is also an active member in the Continuous Medical Education (CME) Committee of the hospital.
  • Dr. Karim still at present working as Consultant Ophthalmologist in the hospital.

Research

  • Completed my Master’s thesis research on assessing the OCT evaluation of the fellow eye of patients with full-thickness macular hole to determine how far the fellow eye will be affected in those patients and awarded a degree of excellence on this research from the department of ophthalmology, Alexandria University
  • Participated and actively assisted in various clinical and literature review presentations made by various Ophthalmology professors during international meetings and local clinical meeting seminars.
  • Completed my TQM Diploma research on information systems in healthcare and hospital management (ARAVAIND HOSPITAL)which I study how can I apply an efficient IT system, awarded grade A on this research from the department of management American university in Cairo.
